This travelogue offers a visual and geological journey through Eastern Europe’s mineral heritage, with a special focus on the Carpathian region. Through the dual lens of a photographer and geologist, it highlights key specimens from Hungarian, Slovakian, and Romanian collections and institutions visited over the past seven years. The presentation follows the path of the Carpathian volcanic belt, exploring its major mining localities and the mineralogical treasures they yield.
László grew up in a family of mineral collectors, sparking a lifelong passion for geology and minerals. He graduated simultaneously as a geologist and photographer, and went on to work with mineral exploration companies across Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Europe. Eight years ago, he began his professional career in fine mineral photography, and has since visited major European collections and regularly participates in leading mineral shows such as Munich, Sainte-Marie, Denver, and Tucson.
